Grr... No loot
Two days ago begun massive farming project with my Warrior, but i got no loot in any run!
I am alone (doh) hunting those ettins with good build found in PvX wiki. After 6 runs, all I got was small bunch of money (500gp if I remember right) and masses of basic Ettin junk I didn't even collect as they can be sold for only 5gp.
Then I desperately tried to farm Hulking Stone Elementals in Hard mode Ascalon. There was more production: one max dmg. almost no upgrade longsword and a lockpick which I later wasted to get a crappy bow from Shiverpeaks while trying to get Sorrow Furnace.
Trolls were also slain but no production either.
Is this just bad luck ? Or have I pissed off the six gods?
EDIT: Oh, I got one rune from ettins, but it was minor mesmer rune

You need to pick up the "crappy" loot too. It all adds up to be sold for extra cash. Golds and rare items aren't really that common, although they do drop more in hard mode.
Just try a new area. Personally, I'd suggest you try W/Rt Underworld Smite Runs (check out pvxwiki.com). They made me the money I needed.

To get the most drops of money and gold items, you would have to farm in Hardmode. I'm pretty sure that ettin build won't work in HM.....Normal Mode you get next to nothing for drops. Except for farming Smites in Underworld for Ectos....thats the only place worth farming in NM. Like he said, W/Rt is a good safe build for farming ectos in UW. You can get around 4-7 ectos in around 4-5 runs if you caught a hot time for farming there. You do that every night, you can eventually end up with 100-500k from farming ectos alone.
Warriors aren't that great for farming in Hard Mode at all. It's best to get yourself a Monk or what I recommend a Ritualist, to farm just about anything in Hard Mode.

ettins and trolls dont really seem to be too good anymore due to the decrease in drop rates. best advice i can give is get your warrior ascended (if he isnt) and get over to temple of ages to start farming ectos in UW as rare materials have not been scaled down like other items have. Ive pretty much given up on other farms and stick to UW or FOW. i do still use my rit using my owns builds or some of rezzdoggs which work well and mean much quikcer farms so more chance of netting some decent drops. you could just be unlucky tho. i assume you are hunting ettins in HM?

This would take up quite a bit more time, but I do suggest making a Ritualist and trying out ReZDoGG's awesome builds... Just hope it won't get nerfed before you're able to do it, IF you're making a Rit =P
If you`re sticking with Warrior, you also might wanna give a shot at Chest Running. If you're hoping for the oh-so-rare Elemental Sword, it will take a long time to get unless you've got some pretty darn good luck.

you could easilly farm a place with lots of MELEE attacking foes in hm with basically any build for warrior, you could farm pongmei valley with a warrior using balthazars spirit, dolyak signet, lions (whatever, the heal thing o.O), live vicarously, vigorous spirit, tripplechop/gladiators defense, cyclone axe, whirlwind attack. just insert whatever attributes suit you really o.O

And if possible, a guide

I don't think the skills on my build will ever get nerfed or buffed. They all gonna stay the same for years to come...no reason to nerf them. And Spirit Bond was already nerfed before, can't imagine it happening again...unless its for the better. Gettin full duration on Spirit Bond again would sweet.

I don't have a guide for W/Rt, but I did make a guide for my Rt/W build that is almost the same but faster than W/Rt. But you should stick with W/Rt for awhile until you know UW good. But you can read the UW guide that goes with my build, its all the same. It's a walk through to farm Smites... Just read the parts on what to do for Grasp, the run to smites, and then the smites. All you will need to do is use Watch Yourself and Doylak just as VwK is ending...only thing different, everything else is the same. have fun.
Check it out UW guide here: Rt/W UW Smite Solo (Using VwK)

This is getting sorta off-topic and I'm failing to see the point in keeping this thread here....
Its random and in that same case its bad luck.
